Skeet/Trap Cards

**NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS:** Be advised that the machine the club uses to load the RFID cards with more birds and produce new cards for new members is broken.  ASC has ordered the part, but unfortunately it is on back order. We have asked when it will be available, but do not have an answer yet. As a result, there is going to be a delay for those members requesting refilled or new cards for the shotgun range. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this time. We will provide updates as they become available.

October Rimfire Results

Airfield Shooting Club completed another successful 22LR rimfire bench rest match for October.  The competition follows a modified American Rimfire Association rule format on the 50 yard line.  Final match for this year is scheduled for November 20th, if you haven’t had a chance to test your shooting skills here’s your opportunity.  See you at the 50 yard line! Urgent Work Party

There will be a (hopefully brief) work party Sunday afternoon (October 9th) at 2:30. The goal of this work party is to maintain the structural integrity of the 50-yard range shelter. We will be installing joist hangers on some of the joists in the overhead. We will also be removing some of the load (wood) stored in the overhead. We will need bottle jacks (and wood to adjust their height), 4×4 or larger post to jack the joists, come alongs with straps or chains, LARGE pipe wrenches (to twist the joists of necessary), and impact drivers with ¼ inch drivers. If you can help and can bring any of the items above, please let me know. Otherwise, I’ll have to acquire them. I can be reached at [email protected]. Thanks, and I hope to see you at the range! Art Schoner ASC XO

Work Party and Framing Expertise Needed

Sorry for the late notice, there will be a work party to build new frames this Saturday morning (September 17) at 9:30 a.m. The 50-yard range will be closed for the duration of this work. We will be replacing all of the existing frames. Tools needed include: drills/impact drivers, torx bits, snap lines, miter saws, table saw (for the beveled edge), chisels, hammers, and tape measures. For the light duty, or mobility challenged, we will also be installing grommets on backers. A hammer and utility knife are needed for this job. If there are any members with expertise in framing, I also need some advice during this work party. If you have any questions, I can always be contacted at [email protected]. Thanks, and I hope to see you there, Art Schoner ASC XO

Work Party

Work Party It’s time to clean up and do a little range maintenance.  Given time, and enough members show up, I’d like to tackle the following items Sunday starting at 10:00 Pressure washing the outside of the restroom building. Cleaning both the 50-yard and 100-meter ranges. Sealing both ranges’ roofs. Repainting the red safety lines Sealing the wall between the ranges (if enough members show) General range and grounds clean up to include the trash immediately outside the gate. Priority will be given to the work on the ranges as to allow the Swamp Shooters access at 1:30. We will need: Ladders (both step and extension) Gas powered pressure washers Garden hose Telescoping painting poles for sealing the roofs. (We have the brushes and adaptors) Gas/battery powered leaf blowers Telescopic pressure washer wands for use on the roofs. Tools to facilitate safely removing the trash by the gate (rakes and hoes).  There may be reptilian inhabitants. The forecast is for temps in the 90’s and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Bring plenty to drink and if the rain forecast holds true, we’ll have to delay the roof work.  So come out and clean up and improve your ranges.  Remember both ranges …
