A CALL TO PENS! Fellow Members of ASC, as we are sure you are aware the last election did not go our way as gun owners.  The newly elected officials for 2020 are already proposing draconian laws that in some cases will make most of us felons (Class 6 – minimum 5 year prison term) with the stroke of pen unless we turn in our firearms.  The time to act was during the election, but now it is imperative that we rise up and make our voices heard and pray that it is not too late. Many of the cities that our members live in are having 2A Sanctuary City votes and discussions.  At this point the resolution may mean little legally, however it does send a message to Richmond that we the people are not going to stand for our rights to be infringed.  Time is of the essence.  There are already 20 cities/counties that have passed 2A Sanctuary Resolutions, but we have a long way to go.  If your city/county has not yet had a 2A Sanctuary City Resolution vote we would like to encourage you to contact your city or county representatives and let them know your …

Volunteer Opportunity- Hampton Gun Show Nov 30th and Dec 1st

Looking to earn some service hours? The Airfield Shooting Club will have a booth at the Hampton Gun Show on Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st. We need at least 4 volunteers on Saturday and 2 more volunteers for Sunday. If you would like to help out and represent our club, please email the Gun Show Director, Gary at [email protected]. There will be future opportunities to volunteer at gun shows, if interested, reach to Gary for details.

FREE Shooter Tune Up! November 17th 1 – 3 PM

Airfield Shooting Club Is offering a FREE Shooter Tune Up! November 17th 1 – 3 PM ASC Instructors are offering a FREE shooter tune up.  Instructors will be at the range November 17th from 1-3 PM.  We will offer free instructions specific to you.  All you have to do is show up!  We will be offering this first session for pistol and rifle.   We will be on the SRB, 50 and if need be the 100 range, but no range will be fully reserved. Is your pistol shooting a little rough?  Does your deer rifle need some sighting in?  We can help!  All you have to do is bring your gun, ammo and targets. If you know what you want to work on, great, if not, we can assess and go from there.

ASC Members, One of the goals of ASC is to work to preserve our rights and educate others concerning the shooting sports. The Virginia Citizen’s Defense League provides outreach, support, and helps to ensure our firearms rights are preserved. About twice a year we feel it’s appropriate to send an email letting our members know about VCDL and include pertinent information about elections or other key gun rights issues. Ken Grover Memorial Open (NSSA) Skeet shoot … Oct 26th – 28th 2019

Skeet shooters… On October 26th – 28th the Airfield Shooting Club will be holding the Ken Grover Memorial Open.. A NSSA registered skeet shooting competition. If you need to get targets in, here is your chance… If you are not a member of the NSSA, You may join at the shoot.. The competition will have the following categories: 12 gauge 20 gauge 28 gauge 410 gauge Doubles There will be a cash prize for first place in each category. The cost is $25 per gun. In order to participate you must pre-register and be a member of NSSA. On the day of the shoot you will need; 1. Cash or check for $25 for each gun. (Checks are to be payable to Airfield Shooting Club) 2. NSSA membership card. (You may join the NSSA at the shoot, the yearly membership is $30.00) 3. Classification Sheet. The competition will allow mixed guns each day so you may compete on any of the 3 days. Ties for Gun Championships will be determined by long runs from the front or back whichever is longer. Volunteers still needed for the 4-H District Shoot on Saturday June 29th, 2019 from 7am – 6pm .. Position needed for Saturday: Admin – to check in shooters RSO on 50M RSO on 100M Escort on 50M – Walks with shooter w/uncased rifle. Escort on 100M – Walks with shooter w/uncased rifle. Cleanup after the match. ASC Members, Below you will find a link to the Special Election Edition of the ASC Flyer – ASC Flyer 2019 Special Election Edition – On July 20, 2019, the Airfield Shooting Club will be holding its annual ASC Member Election Meeting and Breakfast for all active ASC Members. We will meet in the Gray Building dining hall with breakfast being served at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast is paid for by the ASC for all ASC Members active and in good standing. Please note that family or guests accompanying Members will not be paid for by the Club. After breakfast, ASC President and other Board members will address Club matters. We will then hold the election to choose the new ASC Board. All active Members will be eligible to vote. We encourage all members to participate and choose the future leadership of your Club. Work Party – Saturday, May 25th 2019

On Saturday, May 25th 2019 , starting at 9:30am.  We will be having a work party. This work party will be rebuilding frames and the knee wall on the short berm range, and staining/preserving the wall between the 50 and 100 yard range and general clean up of the range in preparation for WOT. You will need… Tools for building and repairing the frames.. Circular saws, cord less drills / saws, Hammers and any other woodworking tools. Painting equipment and sprayers stain the wall with and even ladders to reach. If you have some free time this is a great opportunity to help out the club and make a few service hours If you have any questions… Please contact Mark ..  [email protected] *(Both the 50 and 100 yard ranges will be closed at this time)* Edit: Correction to last post;  This will be a repair and paint/ stain work party… brush repairs will be done at a later date.
