In need of AC tech

It seems the clubs building AC unit has taken a turn for the worst and I am being advised that the AC in the bathrooms and office is not working. Any club members that are AC techs that are willing to take a look at the unit please contact me, the MO or Art, the president. Thank you in advance. CoryAka the MO.

4-H Summer Camp Season is Here!

Just a quick reminder that Summer Camp season is already underway.  The entire ASC range complex is closed to ASC members when campers are at the ranges.  Make sure to check the calendar for camp range use hours!  Hours can vary camp to camp.

Carpentry Work Needed for 5 Stand

We need carpentry work done for the 5 stand shotgun project  See attached sketches for projects.  We need several people or a team to take over each project and complete it in the next two weeks.  Brenda Norton is in charge of the work, and she can meet you at the shotgun fields most any time to go over the work and get you started.  We have all of or most of the lumber and other items.  Just need your help and equipment to do this.  Saws, drills, impacts, or what equipment you think will be best to complete the tasks.  If we need any misc hardware I can pick it up or the team can and we can reimburse you.  I have a huge bucket or two of different sizes of screws. The weather is beautiful and this is a good way to get your service hours early this year.  Please email, text, or call Brenda Norton to get started on the project you want to do. Get a team together to take on a portion of this work. [email protected] or 757-641-5590 5 stand carpentry work needed

Berm Maintenance and Road Repair is Starting

It is critical to check the club calendar (Calendar – Airfield Shooting Club) before heading to the range this week.  Timberland Contracting will be on-site to work on the 50 and 100 berms, the shotgun fields, an old trap house, and finally upgrading the range road. Individual ranges may be closed or access to the entire range complex could be blocked. I’ll post additional information on the calendar as I receive it from Timberland.   Art Schoner ASC President

Airfield 4-H Center’s Rebuild Reconnect 2026 Free Seats!

The club has purchased a table of six seats at the fundraising dinner on April 11.  Four seats remain for club members (and spouse/SO).  Limit 2 seats per person.  First come, first served.  Contact the Club president, Art Schoner, at [email protected] to reserve you seat at our table.  If you’d like to purchase your own seat, the QR code on the attached flyer will take you to the website to do so.   Art Schoner ASC President

4H Center Work Day

Here is a chance for service hours if you still need some(this workday is before the end of March so hours should apply to the current membership year), or if you want to help out the 4H center. From Bubba at the 4H Center, mulch will be spread so pitch forks and square point shovels will be needed. Loppers for cutting brush and a chainsaw or two would be nice as the center has a log splitter and they need some longer logs cut up. I am sure a good general cleanup will occur also so maybe a leaf blower or 2 would’nt hurt. I will not be at the work party and I am not sure if any board members will be there either. If you decide to show up please sign in and out at the center and let them know you are a ASC member, please write your member number down, as I am sure that Kathy will ensure that the club gets a list of  ASC volunteers. Are you in need of club service hours for the 2026/2027 year? Get yours early!

On Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 10am-12pm, the Holiday Lake 4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) decided on Airfield as the location for their meeting and requested (rented) the 50 & SRB Ranges for their training.  This will be a good way to show Holiday Lake what a great facility we have. We need two awesome people to set up the 50/SRB range and be RSO for this group. If you’re interested, please contact Brenda Norton at [email protected] for more details and to volunteer.

Renewal season is upcoming but not here yet

From the Board: “Members, do not submit any payments for 2026 dues until you get an email from the secretary telling you how much you owe. If you submit payments before those emails go out they will just be returned to your card and you will have to pay again when the bill does go out. If for any reason you think you have a bad email on file then contact [email protected] or email [email protected]. If you suddenly find your email and realize you never paid 2025, contact the secretary BEFORE submitting any funds. At best, your amount will be wrong because it did not include the late fee and if you waited too long you may have to go through a different process to renew. Any funds you send prior to conversation with the secretary will be returned to the card you made the payment on and you will have to go through the repayment once you have the correct amount.”   Cory AKA The MO
