The work on the 50-yard shelter is finally complete.  We now have a new secure roof with no holes in it.  The gutters and gutter guards are installed to help with erosion and keeping us dryer.  The gutters are also on the bathroom building.  Photo credits go to Brenda Norton.  🙂

Remember:  This work was supported by the 2025 Virginia Wildlife Grant Program through a partnership between the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia.

Work on the 5-Stand should start in the next week or so.

May Day Pin Match Results

Gentle Shooters,

It felt a bit like the High Plains on the range today with winds gusting to over 30 MPH. We had to reset a few tables, but ultimately all our shooters got their stings in today.  There were were some fine performances listed below for your enjoyment.  Next match date is June 7th.

50-yd range Work

The work on the 50 and the bathroom building has begun.  Work started Saturday April 5 and was delayed until Wednesday April 16 due to material issues.  We received a $10,00 grant from DWR to help wit this work

“This program is supported by the 2025 Virginia Wildlife Grant Program through a partnership between the
Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia.”

It was pretty well gutted on Saturday April 5.

Materials arrived 4/15 and work resumed on 4/16.

There will be additional posts on the website, but this will be the last one sent out in an email.

REMINDER – Work Party Sunday April 6th BALLISTIC WALL REPAIRS

***REMINDER***

For those needing service hours, this is the last work party before renewals.

There will be a work party on Sunday April 6th, 9am to 3pmish, weather permitting to start the work on the ballistic wall repairs. We will be attaching 2x6s to both sides of the wall and boring a 1/2 hole thru the wall and using carriage bolts to secure the 2x6s. We will also do a general range cleanup and can always have a few members help make up the remaining target backers. We have some tools on hand but items we will need will be listed below. If time permits we may have to remove some gravel from inside the wall to repair a few troubled spots and then restore the gravel from the top of the wall, good ole bucket brigade possibly.

small generators and extension cords, 6 or 8 foot or small extension ladders , 1/2 in drills, 1/2 in wood boring bits at least 12-14 in long(we have a few), impact guns and deep well sockets(I believe it is a 3/4in nut for the carriage bolt) hammer or mallets, chop saw or skill saw, chalk strings, laser level if anyone may have one, back pack blowers and general hand tools.

If you think you can attend please send me an email or text(this is not required) or if you have any special equipment.

This is most likely the last work party before renewals so if you need service hours this will be a good opportunity to get them.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
