The next defensive shooting match is this Saturday May 30th set up 8:30 Shooters brief 9:00 a.m. to compete in the match you must attend the scooters brief, entry fee for members is $5 each additional category is $2 non-members entry fee is $10 each additional category is $2 This time around we will not be using the 10 round magazine limit, load all magazines to capacity there will be specific points in the stage where you are supposed to reload for the stage, This match we will be running the following categories pistol all Centerfire pistols and revolver, rifle all rifles, Two Gun a pistol and rifle combination, and shotgun shotgun goes last for these categories there are no caliber/gauge limits   The stages for the match are listed in the PDF here ->DSM Stages 5-30-2026   In the event that the range conditions or weather is not conducive for a match we now have steel targets that will be set up on the SRB to run what will be referred to as drill Steel if we have to fall back to this option categories are limited to pistol and PCC pistol calibers 44 magnum and smaller only and …

Unfortunately the weather is not being very cooperative and the conditions on the Range will not allow for the defensive shooting match to operate safely and unfortunately for the second time this month I’m having to cancel the match rest assured I will be looking into a fallback option for future matches something that can be set up on the short range berm to allow some type of match to happen in the future current idea going through some preliminary evaluation is using steel silhouettes to do simple drills and qualifiers and some very basic stages these fall back scenarios would be limited to pistols only if we use Steel targets

This Saturday February 28th weather permitting another defensive shooting match on the 100 m range set up 8:30 Shooter’s brief 9:00 a.m. to compete in the match you must attend the shooters brief Entry fee is $5 for members $10 for non-members this includes one category each additional category afterwards will be $2 there is categories for all pistols, rifles, shotguns, and two gun pistol and rifle. If you wish to shoot shotgun category that is done last as it destroys the targets This match we will be trying something new the 10 round limit on magazines for this match is lifted load to full capacity or whatever capacity you want but with the exception of stage one there is a requirement that you must perform at least one reload during stages two and three and there’s still the same restriction on dropping a loaded mag on the ground that is a 3-second penalty if it’s empty kick it across the range I don’t care   The stages are attached in the PDF here DSM Stages 2-28-2026 Any questions please send to me at [email protected]

This Saturday the defensive shooting match is back weather permitting we will be starting set up at 8:30 with the shooters brief at 9:00 a.m. to compete in the match you must attend the safety brief we will be shooting the simplified categories of pistol, rifle, shotgun, and two gun ( pistol and rifle) Entry fee for members is $5 for non-members $10 this includes one category additional categories will be two extra dollars we ask people to please limit initial category purchase to only three if there is time in the day and people still wishing to shoot additional categories can be added later, the stages for this match are in the attached PDF for any questions please contact me at [email protected]   DSM Stages 1-3-2026 I look forward to seeing everyone out at the match

Just a quick little post due to the proximity of the 5th Saturday of this month in relation to Thanksgiving and the fact that all of the match directors will be spending time with family the defensive shooting match will not be held this month the next defensive match will be January 3rd weather permitting

With the excessive amount of rain that we’ve had and more expected Friday I am here by canceling the defensive match on May 31st because the expected muddy conditions of the range will not allow us to safely hold the match the next defensive shooting match weather permitting will be August 30th I apologize to those that were planning on attending but we must prioritize safety
