Thank you from the MO
I want to thank all the members that took time out of their day to come out to the work party at the rang Saturday March 1st. We accomplished many goals but still have the ballistic wall to work on, possibly Sunday April 6th. I would like to make a few notes and comments about a new addition to the range. -We added target frame folders to both the SRB and the 100. We will probably update the SRB holder at a future work party but please, if you must remove a frame from the range either hang the frame or at least lean it against the frame holder to not have the frames laying in the brush. If the frame is damaged beyond repair lay the frame on the ground so that it may be disposed of properly and let me know via email so that we can take care of it. A picture is provided of the frames at the 100 yard range. -New frames were built for the SRB, 25, 50 and 100. Please make sure that only the 10ft tall frames built for the 25 are only used at the 25. They should be stored either …

Effectively immediately, the range noise restrictions on Sunday mornings have been lifted. The range hours are now, with no restrictions, sunrise to sunset 7 days a week. Remember that special events, like weddings, may call for a temporary cease fire for specified hours. Check the club calendar before heading to the range! Thanks to Kathy Guindon, the center’s executive director for lifting these random restrictions! Art Schoner ASC President

Our Treasurer is Retiring
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season and your New Year is off to a great start! Now for some important club business that needs to be addressed: Kirk Culpepper, has served as the ASC treasurer for the past five years. He has stated his desire to retire from this position at the end of the board year in July. He strongly recommends having a multi-month turn over with his replacement as there are many passwords, financial accounts, and processes to be learned and turned over. Kirk would like to have 6 months to work with his replacement and feels that this is in the best interest of all parties. He had his duties dumped on him and he has no desire to repeat that with his replacement. If you’d like to support the club and time and interest, please contact me at [email protected] or Kirk directly at [email protected]. The club treasurer is an essential member of the Board, so this position MUST be filled. The earlier we find a replacement, the easier the transition will be. Kirk has summarized his duties below: On a daily basis the treasurer monitors the various accounts of the club including …

Note from the MO: Guests of Members
Recently, Tuesday November 12th, on a trip to the range I again noticed a few issues that we as members need to be more cognizant of. When I got to the 50/SRB to do some sighting in I had noticed that some target backers had been left at the back wall and not returned to the sign in shed. If the backers are all shot up an non usable please dispose of them in the trash cans. If the backer are still usable, please strip your spent targets from the backer and return them to the sign in shed. Also there was excessive amounts of brass on the floor area that had not been cleaned up. While talking to a couple members, I was advised of a recent trip of theirs to the range, specifically the SRB/50. A member had brought numerous guest and were occupying several lanes on the range on the 50 and the SRB and was not doing a very good job of watching over their guest. The worst part to me was that when the members questioned and asked to do a better job of watching over the guest, he was given some attitude about the …
