Our Treasurer is Retiring

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season and your New Year is off to a great start! Now for some important club business that needs to be addressed: Kirk Culpepper, has served as the ASC treasurer for the past five years. He has stated his desire to retire from this position at the end of the board year in July. He strongly recommends having a multi-month turn over with his replacement as there are many passwords, financial accounts, and processes to be learned and turned over. Kirk would like to have 6 months to work with his replacement and feels that this is in the best interest of all parties. He had his duties dumped on him and he has no desire to repeat that with his replacement. If you’d like to support the club and time and interest, please contact me at [email protected] or Kirk directly at [email protected]. The club treasurer is an essential member of the Board, so this position MUST be filled. The earlier we find a replacement, the easier the transition will be. Kirk has summarized his duties below: On a daily basis the treasurer monitors the various accounts of the club including …

Note from the MO: Guests of Members

Recently, Tuesday November 12th, on a trip to the range I again noticed a few issues that we as members need to be more cognizant of. When I got to the 50/SRB to do some sighting in I had noticed that some target backers had been left at the back wall and not returned to the sign in shed. If the backers are all shot up an non usable please dispose of them in the trash cans. If the backer are still usable, please strip your spent targets from the backer and return them to the sign in shed. Also there was excessive amounts of brass on the floor area that had not been cleaned up. While talking to a couple members, I was advised of a recent trip of theirs to the range, specifically the SRB/50. A member had brought numerous guest and were occupying several lanes on the range on the 50 and the SRB and was not doing a very good job of watching over their guest. The worst part to me was that when the members questioned and asked to do a better job of watching over the guest, he was given some attitude about the …

General Information and rules reminders

Information from the MO, Maintenance Officer: All members should take a minute or two and re read the rules of the range when you have a spare minute. Lately there have been several issues reported to the board or found by board members. Some are minor and some are more concerning. From arrival to leaving the range please try to leave the range better then you have found it. -Before coming to the range check the calendar on the ASC website, https://airfieldshootingclub.org/calendar/ to ensure that the range is not closed for an event. This could save you a costly trip to and from the range. -There are plenty of chairs and shooting benches at the range currently, please do not bring any chairs or furniture to the range unless you have been given approval from a board member. I know shooting from a lazy boy would be nice, but it just clogs up the shooting area, LOL. -When opening the gate or any lock please ensure that the lock is zeroed out before leaving the lock. -The combinations for any lock shall not be shared with any non member. If you have a guest, open the bathroom locks for them, …
