RSO’s Needed for Skeet Range August 11 1400-1600

The Airfield Shooting Club is looking for two Skeet Range Safety Officers (RSOs) on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 2 PM to 4 PM to oversee the safety of 21 men who are from a coaching group using the range. This is a great opportunity to obtain some volunteer hours and ensure that visitors to the ASC ranges have a SAFE opportunity to practice their shooting skills and support the Second Amendment. The July Too Hot to Handle Bowling Pin Match

Yes Gentle Shooters,

It’s time to go bowling again! After a month off in support of our Women on Target program, the bad boys and girls of the Bowling Pin Nation will be back on the range this Saturday, July 7th at 9:30 AM. Our match is held at the beautiful Airfield Shooting Club range in uptown Wakefield, VA. For directions and match rules and descriptions, see our web site at www.airfieldshootingclub.org. We have even ordered up cooler weather for shoot. We will see you Saturday.

ASC Flyer – 2018 Special Election Edition

On July 21, 2018, the Airfield Shooting Club will be holding its annual ASC Mem-
ber Election Meeting and Breakfast for all active ASC Members. We will meet in the

Gray Building dining hall with breakfast being served at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast is paid for
by the ASC for all ASC Members active and in good standing. Please note that family or
guests accompanying Members will not be paid for by the Club. After breakfast, ASC
President and other Board members will address Club matters. We will then hold the
election to choose the new ASC Board. All active Members will be eligible to vote. We
encourage all members to participate and choose the future leadership of your Club.

We have vacant Board positions that must be filled to continue to operate the Club in-
cluding Treasurer, Secretary, XO, Newsletter Editor, etc. Please volunteer !!!

YOU MUST RSVP BY JULY 14, 2018 TO BE ELIGIBLE TO EAT BREAKFAST !!!

Work party… Saturday, June 23rd 2018, starting at 8:00 am.

This will be for, Making new target boards for the range.
Leveling and putting down gravel at the skeet/trap pavilion.

Saturday, June 23rd
Will be starting at 8:00AM and work until work is completed. Both ranges should be open, but check with the XO.

You will need.. work gloves, something to move gravel with (shovels, rakes, etc…)
If you have a tractor we could use it. A tractor with a blade to level the ground, even better.

If you have some free time this is a great opportunity to help out the club and make a few service hours.

Club elections are upcoming.. Positions that need to be filled are:
XO (Executive Officer) – Handles maintenance and security of the ASC range, property, and equipment.
Treasurer – Handles all the club’s finances and bills.
Secretary – Handles all club commutations, new memberships and records

ASC Pistol Class July 7

On July 7 2018 the Airfield shooting club will be hosting a Pistol Class. More information regarding the course can be found by following the below link.

Note: This course has limited space; the course is filled as payments are received.

If you already have a concealed carry permit, this is a great refresher course, especially if the first course you took to acquire your permit did not have a lecture on the laws in Virginia. If you have family, friends and neighbors who wish to acquire a concealed carry permit, then this course will fully prepare them!!! We hope you will register for this class and join us on July 7!!!

4H District Shoot

4-H is requesting some assistance for the District Shoot.  We could
use the following:

Two volunteers for Friday at 5 PM for about 2 hours.

Two or three volunteers for Saturday morning from 8-12.

Two or three volunteers for Saturday afternoon from 12-4 (or just a bit
later as we’ll be cleaning up after the competition.

Work party… Friday, June 1st 2018, starting at 9:00 am

We will be installing new posts for the front range gate.

Will be starting at 9:00AM and work until work is completed.
All the ranges should be open during the work, but the entrance maybe close temporally while we work.

We will need… digging tools, ropes, saws, hammers, squares, rulers, etc… and any other tools you can think of to install 2 large telephone poles
(also may need chains saws and equipment for clearing brush etc…)

If you have some free time this is a great opportunity to help out the club and make a few service hours.

The XO, handles maintenance and security of the ASC range, property, and equipment.
