ASC Members, due to an unforeseen technical issue, the Airfield Shooting Club Membership Renewals will be delayed this year. Renewals will go out by April 2nd. Please do not pay ahead of receiving your renewal form. A notice will be posted when the renewals are sent to keep everyone informed. If you have not received a renewal form by April 15th, please contact the Secretary at [email protected]. The gate combination change will be delayed to allow time for mailing out new cards. WORK PARTY!
We’ll have our spring frame and Bowling Pin Table work party this coming Saturday February 26th at 10:00. We will build 7 bowling pin tables and replace the SRB target frames. Some other frames require some repair, but not replacement. We will need at least one table saw to rip the lower cross member of the frames. Some miter saws and drills/drivers should do the rest. If you have Torx drivers, bring T20 through T30.
We will be working on the 50-yard range and the hundred will remain open, except for time to retrieve and replace frames for repair. Given sufficient turn out we should be done by noon.
I also need volunteers to get service hours for shooting! The wood for the work above will be delivered sometime Friday. I won’t know more about scheduling until late Thursday or Friday morning. I’d like 2 volunteers to cover all day Friday. One from 8 until 12, and the other from 12 until 4. You’re free to shoot, or just lounge around. I just need the range open and someone to accept the delivery. If you’re interested, please contact me via email at [email protected].
Thanks, and see you on the range.

Shotgun Shooter Tune Up – Update
ASC Webmaster Position Available
ASC Members,
Due to family and work commitments, after quite some time serving as the club’s webmaster I’ve decided it’s time to step down from the position. I’ve been passively looking for a member that has interest for some time, but it’s time to ramp up efforts to find a quality replacement. I’ll continue serving until we can find a replacement in a limited capacity.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the ASC board, maintaining our website and email automation system, and helping out with other technology related needs for the club this might just be the position for you. The website runs on WordPress, and is minimally customized so there shouldn’t be a huge learning curve for anyone who has WordPress experience.
If you are interested in the position and want to learn more, please send me an email.

Shooter Tune up Shotgun! Shotgun Fundamentals – Jan 29.
Do you have a shotgun that you haven’t shot or haven’t shot in some time? Now is the time! Dale Mullin, who is a very experienced shotgun instructor and a Level II shotgun coach, will be there to help you learn to hit flying targets.
Dale will help you with the fundamentals – stance, pointing etc to hit incoming, out-going and slight crossing targets.
Please bring your shotgun and 2 boxes (50 shells) of ammunition. The ammunition should contain any of the following shot sizes 7-1/2, 8, or 9 size shot. Boxes labeled for target shooting or “Dove or Quail” will be OK. If you have a choice, look for velocities between 1100 and 1200 feet per second. No need for any higher velocities.
If you do not have a shotgun but you have been craving the opportunity to see what it was about, Dale will being some club 20 gauge shotguns. You still need to bring 2 boxes of 20 gauge shotgun shells of 7-1/2, 8, or 9 shot size.
Please drop Dale an e-mail to let him know you’re coming so that he can plan how many clay targets we will need. [email protected]
If there is enough turn out/interest we can offer advance shooting tips on trap and skeet!
We look forward to seeing you there!!!!

(The air handler and ducting are up there making things a little tight.) Work will start at 10:00 Saturday morning and we should be done within 2 hours.
If you are interested, please send me your name and phone number in an email at [email protected].
