RANGE IS CLOSED ON FRIDAY – AUGUST 5, 2016 FROM 12:00PM to the END OF THE DAY. Due to the need to conduct soil management work, the range will be CLOSED from 12:00pm (Noon) until the end of thr day.We will be applying chemicals and it needs to settle before the range can be used.Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvience this may cause.

Ladies ONLY Shooting Clinic – Saturday,  June 4, 2016   Airfield Shooting Club is holding another Women on Target Event!! Our Women on Target events are fun and educational. Cost includes loaner firearms, all ammunition, targets, instruction by NRA certified instructors and lunch.     Attendance limited to the first 40 applicants. Defensive Pistol match season starts up … Saturaday, Jan 31st

Our Defensive Pistol match season starts up this comeing Saturday, January 31st..  This is our 1st match of 2015, come on out and see what it’s about! Defensive Pistol Shooting is a format of competitive shooting that scores the participants on the combined skills of of accuracy and speed. No prior experience is required and is open to anyone that wants to either participate or watch the event. —50 yard range in use from 08:00am till 04:00pm or whenever cleanup is done.— Match information: Set-up: 8 am – 10am on the 50 yard range. ASC Defensive Pistol match training session

We do not have a sufficient number of shooters for a regular ASC Defensive Pistol match, and will hold a training session instead. Stages..We will set up stages or individual props to practice specific skills (such as shooting on the move, engaging moving targets, transitions, shooting from cover etc.) based on shooters’ interests.We will time each other and use safety officers like in a regular match. Fees..We ask shooters to contribute a fee of $5 to offset costs for consumables and targets. We encourage you to bring a pistol-caliber carbine if you own one which will give you the option for training some tactical carbine shooting.No prior experience is required and is open to anyone that wants to participate. Time..Set-up will begin at 8:45 am. We will likely wrap up in the early afternoon, around 2 pm. You can join us any time. New Rifle Match Opportunities

Expanding opportunities for high power sports—traditional service rifles, modern sporters and the coming zombie apocalypse Starting in November 2014, highpower modern sporting rifle and service rifle participants will have two venues to shoot; Traditional Service Rifle (using CMP rules) or the new Zombie Rifle Match (see attached article). The Airfield Shooting Club’s (ASC) primary mission is to “promote safety and shooting education” for members and non-member guests. Since taking the primary role of directing our monthly matches, a number of ASC members have talked to me and raised a number of issues that should be addressed or clarified. This article will highlight three main areas of concern that I have heard from participants in our “Service Rifle.” It is the intent that addressing these three main issues, it will allow ASC members to have greater knowledge, and feel more inclusive to our monthly event. The three main areas of concerns we will address: 1. Is “Service Rifle” just a Civilian Marksmanship Program event?; 2. What if I am not an owner of a CMP sanctioned rifle?, and finally, 3. What opportunities do I have if I am a high-power shooter wanting to shoot in a completive event, but not a …
