Need 6 volunteers to help with the district shoot. Meet at 0700 until 1500. Lunch will be provided. Duties to include escorting 2 shooters for silhouettes matches. Clear the 50 yard line after the silhouettes match is over. Setup the 3 position match and clear the 100 yard range. After 3 position is finished clear the 50 yard range again. We need carpentry work done for the 5 stand shotgun project See attached sketches for projects. We need several people or a team to take over each project and complete it in the next two weeks. Brenda Norton is in charge of the work, and she can meet you at the shotgun fields most any time to go over the work and get you started. We have all of or most of the lumber and other items. Just need your help and equipment to do this. Saws, drills, impacts, or what equipment you think will be best to complete the tasks. If we need any misc hardware I can pick it up or the team can and we can reimburse you. I have a huge bucket or two of different sizes of screws. It is critical to check the club calendar (Calendar – Airfield Shooting Club) before heading to the range this week. Timberland Contracting will be on-site to work on the 50 and 100 berms, the shotgun fields, an old trap house, and finally upgrading the range road. Individual ranges may be closed or access to the entire range complex could be blocked. I’ll post additional information on the calendar as I receive it from Timberland. Art Schoner ASC President

On Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 10am-12pm, the Holiday Lake 4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) decided on Airfield as the location for their meeting and requested (rented) the 50 & SRB Ranges for their training. This will be a good way to show Holiday Lake what a great facility we have. We need two awesome people to set up the 50/SRB range and be RSO for this group. Our very own Ken Bowra has been nominated for the upcoming NRA Board Elections. The reform movement has gotten rid of everyone who was associated with past issues and put in place safeguards like financial transparency to stop it from happening again. In light of the recent increase of rule/safety infractions, the ASC board will be reviewing and revising the Range Rules with the goal of simplifying, clarifying and hopefully condensing the rules. If you have comments or suggestions, please send them in an email to [email protected]. All input will be reviewed by the Governance Committee and possibly forwarded on to the board for incorporation into the Rules. The semi-annual NSSA registered skeet shooting competition will be held at the Airfield Shooting Club on 18-19 October. The competition will have all categories: 12 Ga, 20 Ga, 28 Ga, .410 bore, and Doubles. There will be a cash prize for first place in each category. The cost is $30 per gun. In order to participate you please notify intent to shoot (day, gun, etc.) and be a member of NSSA. Walkups are subject to waiting and possibly shifting to Sunday. On the day of the shoot you will need: Cash or check for full amount for each gun. Checks are to be payable to Airfield Shooting Club NSSA membership card. You may join the NSSA at the shoot, the yearly membership is $30.00 Classification Sheet. The competition will allow mixed guns each day so you may compete on any of the 3 days. Once we have all shooters sending their preferences, a draft schedule will be made available to all. Ties for Gun Championships will be decided by long runs from the front or back whichever is longer.
