Message from the MO about housekeeping and the AED

Hello all, Saturday April 27th, I made a visit to the range to place the new climate control box for the AED back at the 50. If the AED is used please advise a board member or myself so that we can reset the AED and the cable for the AED box alarm. If the AED is removed an alarm will activate and can only be silenced by replacing the cable or shutting the door on the cabinet.

When I arrived to place the new box I noticed that someone had been shooting at the drink machine end of the 50 and had left a large amount of fired brass from a shooting session on the concrete floor. While we are glad you are enjoying the range please be kind and clean up your fired casings from the range surface. If you notice any unfired rounds or misfires, please place those in the dud can, several unfired rounds were found by numerous members and myself that morning. This keeps it safe for fellow members to walk on the concrete surface. Also please clean up your target backers by removing your used targets from the backer and placing the backer back in the sign in shed when you have completed shooting. Please place all your trash in the provided trash cans. If the cans are full, you could also help out and remove and replace the bags and take them to the dumpster. Extra trash bags should be in the sign in shed. If you do take the trash off, please send me a text or email with a picture and your name and member number and you will be credited for service hours. My information is on the club home page or the sign in shed door. Remember, this is our range, please keep it clean and presentable for all to use.

Thank you,
Cory

Shot Size on Shotgun Fields! Read and Heed

Members,

We found today almost a box of fired “00” buck shells on the trap field today (Sunday).  This is a reminder that the allowed shot size on ANY shotgun field is 7.5, 8, 8.5, and 9.  In other word no shot larger that 7.5.  The reason for that is SAFETY!  Larger shot size will exceed our safe fall area.  Depending on how these were fired, they could have easily left our range.

There is zero reason to have something that large on the trap field.  If you want to shot slugs, buck shot etc (anything larger than 7.5 shot, then you are welcome to use the SRB, 50yd  or 100m.

Thank you for your attention!!!

April Bowling Pin Match results

Gentle Shooters,

I am a bit full of myself today. We even have a picture. We had a spectacular turnout for the inaugural Bowling Pin Match of 2024. We hosted 20 shooters, fired 296 relays, and finished before 2:30 in the afternoon. I have to shout out to Cory and Dan, who assisted with scoring and safety duties and were instrumental in keeping the match moving.

It is clear to me that some of you were practicing and the scores reflect that. Congratulations to you guys.  The rest of us just showed up for fellowship, a good time and to heckle the good shooters. So, a very successful match. As you know, now that the season has started, we shoot matches because there is no time to practice. So I don’t want to see anything like the picture above that the range. PS. There will be no washouts for 2024. We intend to shoot steel pins in the short range berm on rain days! The next match is on Star Wars Day, May the Fourth be with you!
