The 4H Center has all ranges reserved for an event.
Just a reminder to the members and others who participate that the June Service Rifle / Zombie Match will not occur tomorrow (10 June 2017) in order for the ASC to host the ladies who will be on the ranges all day for the NRA’s Women on Target! We’ll see you in July!
The main road to the range is in the process of being worked on. At this time it’s certainly usable but work will continue, construction equipment is still in place. As further information on when the road won’t be passible is available we’ll update this posting. If the primary road is not passable, you may survey and use the secondary road off of Turkey Pen at your own risk. It sometimes gets quite muddy.

On Sunday, 12 February 2017, the Swamp Shooters on the 50 yard range left a grey Lowe’s plastic bucket on the line in between two tables (filled with paper targets, clamps, shooting blocks, sledge hammer, and masking tape). Any member who finds this while shooting on the range this week, were asking you to secure it in the target shed and let us know at ([email protected]). THANK YOU!
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-20s and below freeaing. Match will resume in January 2017.
Attention ASC Members: Due to the effects of Hurricane Michael, the range road is not safe for travel, especially cars and low to the ground vehicles. The Director of the 4-H Center, Mel Atkinson, has asked for volunteers to help with emergency repairs on the road. If you want to fulfill some ASC service hours, please contact Mel at 757-899-4901 or via email at [email protected] . Also, Mel could use volunteers to help prepare for the Boo Grass Festival coming soon to the Center. If you can help with the festival, please contact Mel. ASC service hours will be awarded when you volunteer to assist the 4-H Center. Thank you! –Tim Drewry, ASC VP
