April Fools Bowling Pin Match

Thanks to all of our shooters that came out for the April Fool's Pin Match. It was nice to see everyone after the long winter layoff. We missed Match Director Courtney Bolze, who was off setting the woods of western Virginia on fire in preperation for the NASCAR race. Since we all know that a Bowling Pin Match isn't over until Courtney fires his cannon, I am posting these results as "provisional" until next month when the cannon can close the match.

See you at the range then!

Steven

April Fools Bowling Pin Match

Gentle Shooters,

It is that time of year again. Spring has sprung, new tables have been built, and the bowling pins are ready to come out of hiding. This Saturday, April Fools Day, the Airfield Shooting Club kicks off it's 2017 pin shooting season. I realize that many of our intrepid shooters have been tuning thier pistols, practicing their sharpshooting and they are ready for the new season. Regardless of your level of preperation, that's OK, I'll be there anyway, so you won't come in dead last!

Greg Metzgar's picture

The February Service Rifle (SR) had six competitors shooting an assorted lot of rifles. This competition is open to everyone who wants the challenge of shooting a match round on the 100-Yard range. For AR competitiors, and long distance marksman, try your hand at the "Zombie Match" which is a more challanging course of fire. Since the 4-H Training is taking place on 11-13 March, the SR Match Director/RSO will not be available due to work requirements. We will resume our next event on April 8th, 2017. Be safe and remember "MUZZLE, ACTION, TRIGGER!"

Swamp Shooter's Target Bucket

Greg Metzgar's picture

On Sunday, 12 February 2017, the Swamp Shooters on the 50 yard range left a grey Lowe's plastic bucket on the line in between two tables (filled with paper targets, clamps, shooting blocks, sledge hammer, and masking tape). Any member who finds this while shooting on the range this week, were asking you to secure it in the target shed and let us know at (greg.metzgar@airfieldshootingclub.org). THANK YOU!
