Range Rule Update 50 yd Target Placement

 You will see a new red post with a white arrow affixed located on the 50-yard range.  This post is meant to be a reminder of a new rule that Dale Mullin, ASC Chief Instructor, informed you about recently.  Dale's message read:  "Do NOT set targets nor shoot at anything closer than 12-feet laterally from the range separation wall on the 50-yard range. 

Updated Range Rules

Your patience is about to be rewarded.  Construction on the wall is complete and the Board inspected it today prior to our meeting.  We still need to get final approval from the county and the 4-H Center before we can officially reopen the range, but right now it's looking pretty good for Monday, 22 February.  Look for an e-mail from ASC President Tim Drewry with the official announcement.

 

Chief Instructor's Corner --- Range Safety

As our club grows and we have more shooters on the line, the job of the Range Safety Officer becomes more important than ever.  As we get to know our fellow members and become comfortable shooting alongside of them, there is a tendency to relax and trust that everyone will do his or her part to ensure range safety.  That is entirely natural, but what it does not take into account is human fallibility; to err is human.  As RSO it behooves you to act professionally and do your job regardless of how well you know the other shooters on the line.  Multiple people each checkin
